Joshua's 2 Year Old Stats

We went to see Dr. Bloom for Joshua's 2 year well child visit the week after his birthday. I still need to do a long overdue post about all that he is doing right now, but he's doing so much that it's hard to keep up with. He is a smart, sweet, and healthy big boy. Here is how he measured up at his appointment:

Weight: 29 lb (65th percentile)
Height: 36 in (80th percentile)
Head Circumference: 19.5 in (75th percentile)

I asked Dr. B about the old saying that if you double your height at 2 years old you can figure out what your adult height will be. She said that's pretty much true! Derek still doesn't quite believe it because Joshua's mother isn't even 5 feet tall...ha! Looks like I may not have cursed my son after all, but I guess we won't find out for sure for another 18 years or so. Let's hope baby brother will be the same way.

Dan Nicholas Park with Grandma

The morning of Aaron and Christy's wedding Grandma took Joshua and I to Dan Nicholas Park in Salisbury while the boys set things up for the reception. That is the neatest park. It has....

several playgrounds,

a train,

a carousel,

lots of animals,

ducks to feed,

paddle boats,

and a spray park.

We had a GREAT time! And were exhausted when we left.

Aaron and Christy's Wedding

Aaron Carter, or "Carter" as he's known to our friends, got married to Christy in a beautiful ceremony. Derek had the pleasure of serving as a groomsman. We enjoyed a weekend of wedding festivities in Albemarle. It was nice having babysitters so close by. Aaron grew up not far from where Derek grew up. They didn't meet until college and were roommates for a few years before Derek graduated. They were two of the original Barbershop boys. Congratulations Aaron and Christy Carter!

Such a cute idea! Christy did this herself!

Johanna and Her Belly Came to Visit

Johanna flew through town on her way to her parents house after their beach vacation in NC. It was neat to have some quality time with her and her belly, even if it was for just a teeny tiny amount of time. We never imagined in college that we would be pregnant at the same time. Sweet memories!

Joshua's 2nd Birthday Party at Home

We had a birthday party for Joshua at home this year and invited a few friends. It was definitely scaled down from last year's 1st birthday celebration. We went with a fire truck theme because that is definitely something Joshua is into right now. The kids all got fire hats rather than party hats. Derek's mom brought up our niece's fire truck bounce house which was a huge hit with the kids!

We enjoyed pizza for lunch and of course cake! Our little guy got spoiled rotten with lots of fun gifts from his buddies! We are so blessed to have so many people who love our sweet boy!

All the cute kiddos!

Sweet little Caleb enjoying Joshua's new tricycle.

Some of my long lost college girlies came to celebrate with us!

Joshua's 2nd Birthday

For Joshua's actual birthday we celebrated all day long! I took the day off work so that I could give him all of my attention for his day. We enjoyed chocolate chip muffins for breakfast. Usually I just pick out an outfit for him to wear each day, but I gave him the chance to pick out what he actually wanted to wear that day. He chose his "holfpack" shirt. That made his daddy quite proud. We met daddy for lunch where he greeted Joshua with a big balloon! One thing to know about Joshua is that he LOVES balloons! After lunch we headed to the mall to ride the carousel and then home for a nap. He requested macaroni and cheese for dinner, so I tried a homemade recipe to make it more special. It turned out okay, but I think he prefers boxed mac and cheese....ha. We rounded out our day with cake and ice cream. It was a great day. I hope he had as much fun as I did!

Good morning BIG boy! You're 2, and you love your George and don't go anywhere without him! Of course he had to get up and celebrate with us!

I could hardly get him to stand still with his balloon long enough for a picture.

Two candles to blow out this year!

I just can't get enough of this sweet and cute-as-can-be face!!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Joshua!!

Two years ago you were placed into my arms. I instantly fell in love and have continued to fall even harder for you every day since. Joshua, your daddy and I couldn't be more happy to have you and feel so honored that our sweet savior, Jesus, chose to entrust you to us. We love you!

Happy 2nd Birthday to our sweet, spunky, lovable, wild and crazy little/big guy!!! How sweet it is to be your mommy and daddy! We love you to pieces!

Taylor Family Beach Trip 2010

We took our annual vacation to Oak Island with the Taylor clan for the 4th of July. We enjoyed lots of family time. Joshua is a complete nut when he gets on the beach, especially when he is on the beach with his cousins! Too bad we didn't get any actual pictures of him on the beach with them.

While we were there we had a little birthday party at a park for Joshua and his cousin Riley since her birthday was at the end of June. It was a great week to relax and catch up with family!

All of us finally in one picture together! That's never happened before.
