Joshua's first day of preschool.
My sweet big boy is three years old now. So hard to believe. One of my favorite things right now is being able to have actual conversations with him. I can also ask him to do something and he understands and does it....most of the time. We gave him a new big boy bike for his birthday. He LOVES it and is becoming really good at riding it!! If he is in a bad mood all you have to do is ask him if he wants to go out and ride his bike and his mood gets better....most of the time. We still have our moments where he can't decide if he wants to be a baby and make mommy and daddy do everything for him, but those moments are becoming fewer. He is so smart. He knows all of his letters (uppercase), can say the alphabet like nobody's business, and can count up to 20. He tends to leave out 14 many times, but we're working on it. Right now we are practicing writing his letters and understanding lowercase letters better. We have started with writing the letters of his name. Joshua loves doing crafts. His favorite things right now are cutting and gluing. Most of his artwork in which he gets to do the gluing has TONS of glue. He goes to preschool at Fuquay Varina United Methodist Church on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. He loves going to school! Joshua is still crazy for his baby brother! He seriously loves that kiddo! The boys are interacting so much right now. We still have to remind him that Zachary is a baby and he can't be quite so rough with him. His favorite things to do to Zachary right now when they are "wrestling" is putting him in a headlock and licking him. That's right, he straight up licks him on the side of the head. I find a gross wet spot on the side of Z's head at least five times a day. I can only imagine what those two will be like when Z is older and they really get rough. I'm not sure I'm ready for that, but I better get used to it since there aren't any little girls around here to balance out all the testosterone....ha! I love being a mom to boys, though! I thank God daily for my two sweet blessings! Joshua was my first baby boy, and I often tell him that he made me the boy mom that I am. It's just so neat the relationship a mom can have with her boys. Joshua is just so special to me, and these last three years have flown by. I'm trying to soak up every ounce of his little boy self while I can. I'm sure he'll leaving for college before I know it. He actually asked me just this morning on the way to school why I wanted to keep him little. I didn't realize I told him that all that much, but apparently he's caught on to the fact that I want him to be my little boy forever. And I love that little boy so much it hurts sometimes!
