On Sunday night we left to go spend the night in Albemarle on our way to Concord for Uncle Linn's funeral on Monday. We went and celebrated his life, and late Monday afternoon we started our trek back to the beach. My sister Angel rode along with us for most of the way. She was going down to Garden City to stay with her friend Angela and her family for the week, so Angela met us part of the way and picked Angel up. It was nice having her with us because she was able to entertain Joshua for us. It made for a much easier trip!
On Tuesday we left yet again to drive down to North Myrtle Beach to see my friend Holly and her family. We stopped by the outlets there before we headed back to Oak Island to finish out our vacation. Wednesday was another fun filled day on the beach with Derek's mom and our niece Taylor. Then Wednesday night his sister Tabitha, her husband Ben, and our other niece Riley got there. We were so glad to get to spend a little time with them as it had been a while. We had a little birthday celebration before the kids went to bed to celebrate Riley and Joshua's birthdays. We weren't able to go to Riley's birthday party at the end of June, and they weren't able to come to Joshua's birthday party. Once the kids went to bed the "big kids" went crabbing! I had never been before, and we actually caught a crab!
It rained most of Thursday, so we just hung out at the house. We packed up and headed home that night because Derek had to work on Friday. It was a whirlwind trip, but it was oh so fun! We look forward to having David, Pamela, Hudson, and Katy join us next year since they will be home from Thailand July 31st!!
**The flickr page is LOADED with pictures from our trip, so take a look!
